Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Bobby R. Tention, also known as “Boss”, was born August 19, 1943 in Lee County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Paul Tention and Elouise Jennings Tention. He departed this earthly life on November 24, 2023 in the comfort of his home. Bobby attended the public schools of Lee County. He worked at a construction company, then with Mark Hatfield on his family farm and later was employed with Garney Industries for over 20 years, along with Bobby Griffin. Bobby never missed a game from the L A Dodgers or the Rams. He would also spend time watching two of his favorite things, Westerns and Karate movies. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 57 years, Carrie Louise Tention of Sumter; three sons, Avery (Leila) Cabbagestalk of Tampa, FL, Robert (Cheryl) Tention of Sumter, and Tyrone (Constance) Tention of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Rosalyn Tention of Sumter; one sister, Elouise R. Washington of Newark, N. J.; two brothers, Dennis (Anne) Tentyon and Billy (Barbara) Tention of Columbia; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
