Christopher Cottrell Strong, son of Yvette Strong Busbee and Jeffrey Osborne Johnson, was born September 27, 1992 in Richland County. Christopher, affectionately known as “CC”, entered his eternal resting place on Saturday, December 23, 2023 in Temple, Texas. He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 2011. Christopher furthered his education and attended Central Carolina Technical College, Sumter. He also completed the CDL requirements to become a truck driver. CC also served in the United States Army. He held various jobs during his work career, but his passion was driving long distance trucks. Christopher accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Joshua Baptist Church at an early age, where he served faithfully as an usher and member of the Junior Brotherhood. Those surviving to cherish his memories are: his parents; one son, Kingston Cottrell Strong of Sumter; his grandparents, Willie and Rosalee Richardson Strong of Sumter; one brother, Raphael Christopher of Winston Salem, NC; one sister, Asia Smith of Mt. Vernon, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 4870 Regionald Court, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 – 12:00 noon. at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene G. Dennis, Pastor and Eulogist. The Remains will be place in the church at 11:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 11:30 a. m. Burial will be Sunday, December 31, 2023 - 12:00 Noon at Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
