Lawrence Davis, 72, of Sumter, departed this life on January 1, 2024. He was born on September 12, 1951, in Lee County. He was a son of the late Lillie Mae Benjamin Dubose and the late William Davis, S r. He joined Unionville AME Church at an early age, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County and Central Carolina. After completion of his education, he was employed and retired from Santee Print as a line folding supervisor. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his two children, Lorenzo (Latricia) Lesane of Lexington, S. C., Lokesa Lesane (Daniel) Howard of Sumter, S. C.; two grandchildren, Makayla Lesane and Brooke Howard; two brothers, Rickey Davis of Atlanta, GA and Larry Davis of Mayesville; four sisters, Ruth L. Davis of Mayesville, S. C., Loretta Davis-Clark (Larry) of Wedgefield, S. C., Annette Davis and Victoria Dubose of Mayesville, S. C., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 47 Mt. Siani Church Road, Mayesville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 – 12:00 noon at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Pastor and Eulogist, assisted by Rev. Larry D. Clark, Sr., presiding. The Remains will be place in the church at 11:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 11:30 a. m. Burial will be Unionville AME Church Yard Cemetery.
