Booker T. Boyd Jr., son of the late Booker T. Boyd Sr. and Leola Sanders Boyd, was born on October 7, 1949 in Lee County, South Carolina. On February 6, 2024, God called him home. He received his formal education from the public schools of Lee County. Mr. Boyd accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Joshua Baptist Church. After High School, Mr. Boyd worked a number of jobs: Reeves Brothers in Bishopville, DuPont of Camden, Kendells of Camden, Pullum/Wray of Columbia, Wray of Columbia, South Carolina Department of Transportation in Bishopville, and his last job was a truck driver before retiring. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Glenn Vivian Boyd; two daughters, Dr. Wendy Boyd Pooler of Georgia and Cindy Boyd of New Jersey; three step daughters, Avis Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Latosha Segar of Chesapeake, Virginia, Mia Sinkler of Valdosta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Madison Pooler and London Pooler;seven step grandchildren, Infinity Daniels, Takyia Daniels, Jalile Daniels, Malayis Brown, Amayah Segar, Saliyah Segar and Syniah Segar; one sister, Martha Boyd Brunson of Dalzell; one sister-in-law, Barbara Kearse of New Jersey; two nieces, Joyce Bradley Watts of TN, Marcie (Tyrone) Raysor of S C; one nephew, Kevin Brunson of S C; five uncles; six aunts, and a host of other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 703 Bracey Mill Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene G. Dennis., Pastor and Eulogist. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. The procession will leave the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Stuckey Town Road, Rembert.
