Master Jayceon Xavier Jones (Jay), son of Kierra S. Jones, was born on March 15, 2015 in Sumter, South Carolina. The angel of the Lord presented Jay with his wings on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Master Jay was a second grade student at Shaw Heights Elementary School. Jay loved reading and his favorite subject in school was Math. Jay, with a heart of gold, had a smile with a big personality that left a lasting impression on every one he met. Jay, only eight years old, was a very tech-savvy young man and very photogenic. Jay enjoyed watching Black Panther and playing his favorite video games, Fortnite and Call of Duty on his Nintendo Switch, which he left to his brother. Jay had a love for baseball, which he loved and enjoyed watching his uncle DJ play. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and care-giving mother, Kierra Jones; one brother, Kaleb Jones; his Nana, Karen Miller; his grandpa, Arthur Shoto of Kuwait; two aunts, Dakaria Miller of the home and Zaria (Demarcus) of Dalzell, S. C.; two uncles, Darian (DJ) Miller, of the home and DeVonte (Talena) Early of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five cousins, Zacharee Jones and Zariyah Jenkins, both of Dalzell, S. C., Riley, Layla and Aliyah Early all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his great grandparents, Willie (Sarah) Jones of Dalzell, S. C.; a grand uncle, Charles Jones of Sumter, S. C., and a host of other relatives and friends who will be deeply saddened by his passing. Jayceon was preceded in death by his grandfather, Darian Miller and great-great grandparents, Conyers and Sarah White. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home of his great grand parents, 7061 Acton Road, Dalzell. The procession will leave the home at 11:20 a. m. The Remains will be placed in the church at 11:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Orangehill Independent Methodist Church, 3005 South Carolina Highway 261 South, Wedgefield, with the Rev. Darrell A. James, Pastor, Eulogist. Burial will be in the Orangehill Independent Methodist Church Cemetery.
