James Edward “June” Goodman, son of the late Segars and Earline Grant Goodman, was born on January 8, 1957 in Sumter, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on April 5, 2024 at Prisma Health Heart Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. “June”, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed with H. C. Edens and Son’s Farm for 20 years until he retired. June enjoyed lawn care, gardening and s pending time with family. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Janie Goodman of 43 years; two sons, Corey Goodman and Terell (Shenika) Goodman; two grandchildren, Khalia Davis and Termira Goodman; two sisters, Rebecca Porter and Lilly Goodman; one brother, John Goodman, and one uncle, Leroy Grant, all of Dalzell, S. C.; one aunt, Sandra Shaw of Sumter, S. C.; three brothers-in-law, Isaac “Bobby” Dargan, James Dargan of Dalzell, S. C. and Lewis Dargan of Sumter, S. C.; six sisters-in-law, Diane (Talmadge) Joel of Columbia, S. C., Gloria Cooper, Barbara Goodman, Melissa Goodman, all of Dalzell, S. C., Nancy Goodman of Rembert, S. C., and Deatrice Young Goodman of Sumter, S. C., and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 2670 Yank Haven Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held, 12:00 Noon, Thursday, April 11, 2024 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, officiating. The funeral procession will leave the home at 11:20 a. m. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 4620 Quinn Chapel Road, Dalzell,
