Gladys Porcher McDonald, daughter of the late Simmons and Eula Porcher, was born November 5, 1938 in Sumter County. She went home Sunday, July 28, 2024 at her home in Dalzell, SC. Gladys was educated in public school systems of Sumter County. She retired from Sumter County School District as a Bus Driver. She also worked for the following: Wateree Community Actions, Inc. for 15 years in their Transportation Department, Sumter County Council of Aging from August 1974 - August 1980. She was the President of High Hill of Water Company and also worked for RTA in 1982 here in Sumter, and Cherryvale Elementary School as a Teacher Assistant for 2 Years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Thursday, August 1, 2024, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Christopher F. Scott, M. DIV, Presiding. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Garden, 802 North Guignard Drive, Sumter, S. C. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 6345 Catchall Road, Dalzell.
