Pretto Porter was born on April 22, 1929 to the late Roosevelt Martin and Perline Davis Martin. She peacefully departed this life on December 21, 2025. She received her early education at Salters Town School and later graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Virginia. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted, lifelong member of Antioch United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board, United Women’s Group and Kitchen Ministry. She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Edward Porter for 78 glorious years. Her memories will be cherished by her daughters, grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Antioch United Methodist Church, 4040 Dubose Siding Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Franklin Garrett, Pastor and the Rev. Lawrence Canty, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park, 2561 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter.
